Our Goal

We create blankets for homeless pets in Dane County awaiting adoption.

Since our inception in December 2009, we've supplied more than 1,600 blankets to animals in need. Please help us meet our goal of 3,000 blankets by 2014.

Help us continue this trend by volunteering today. Whatever your skill level and whatever time you can offer, the critters will thank you!

Welcome to Blankets for Critters

(Formerly Knitters for Critters)

We are an all-volunteer group located in Madison, Wisconsin who make and donate blankets to care for homeless animals awaiting adoption. While these animals await adoption, the blankets provide a comfortable bed year-round. After they are adopted, their blanket goes with them, providing something familiar as they adjust to their "forever family".

We continue to do good work in our community on behalf of animals awaiting adoption. Just ask "Muffin" from the Dane County Humane Society. Thank you!

We are in dire need of donated washable yarn to keep the volunteers working.

Email us and we'll pick up the donation, or drop yarn at Warner Park Community Recreation center or the Dane County Humane Society. Thank you!

It is such a pleasure and privilege to work with this group of volunteers. Since our inception in 2010, our work has helped to comfort more than 1,600 homeless animals awaiting adoption. During these tough economic times, many beloved animals are finding their way to shelters under circumstances that their families never wanted to happen. This volunteer group makes such a huge difference for these animals. Your blankets help transition them from a temporary home or shelter to their new forever home. Your blankets arrive while they are in a tranistionary shelter and go with them to their forever home. The adopting families often question if they are truly able to take the handmade blanket home, because they are so beautiful. And families have reported back that the blanket is their new pet's favorite thing to sleep on. These type of reports warm my heart and confirm how important our work is to our community. Thank you!
